About

Peascod is a creative studio, combining decades of experience in designing and producing groundbreaking verre églomisé and bas relief pieces that can be found in hotels, yachts and private homes around the world.

Produced exclusively by hand in the Somerset studios, each piece is informed by their West Country location; be that the flora and fauna indigenous to these isles, the ancient traces of human activity on the landscape, rich folkloric tradition, or perhaps simply a colour or texture found furnishing a riverbank.

Emma and Tobias Peascod.

Over the past fifteen years, Peascod has earned a reputation for exceptional, one-of-a-kind works crafted for interior designers, collectors, and architects worldwide. The studio now operates across three offerings: Peascod Commission for bespoke pieces, the Peascod Collect for curated, collectible designs, and Peascod Select, a “ready-to-wear” range with shorter lead times, maintaining the integrity and beauty of the handmade process while offering a more accessible entry point into the world of Peascod.

“Our bespoke work is akin to couture, whereas Peascod Select is ready-to-wear,” explains Emma Peascod. “We’ve developed techniques that preserve the tactile qualities and the evidence of the maker’s hand, while allowing us to work more efficiently.”

Commissions

The unique combination of skills that they bring to each project – from Tobias’ sculptural dexterity to Emma’s experimental research of the traditional verre églomisé process of reverse glass gilding – result in one-off statement pieces for the home, imbued with an understanding of storytelling that surprise and delight.

Collect

Collect explores various aspects of light and form, embracing the playfully illusive alongside hints of darker imagery. They are drawn to the crepuscular atmosphere of the twilight hours, and how the woodland floor is teeming with both life and decay. This is echoed in the objects they produce: the shifting, mercurial nature of the reflectors that Emma specialises in adds atmosphere and depth to Tobias’ asymmetric, bas relief.

The result is their distinctly contemporary take on the British Rococo – a style rooted in the natural world and infused with a sense of drama. Vital and captivating, lavish but with a lightness of touch, they embrace the tension between contradictory elements in their designs. Rich in atmospheric detail, capturing the spirit of the landscape through glimpses of natural form and the subtle interplay of light, a special alchemy reveals itself as each piece seems to come to life the more it is explored.

Select

A ready-to-order collection that brings the studio’s celebrated bespoke craftsmanship to a wider audience. The duo now offer designs that retain the tactility and refinement of their couture commissions, made newly accessible.
